New DroneMobile Web Interface Features for the Drone XC2

If you manage a fleet of service vehicles OR you're the designated "manager" of a busy multi-driver family, you know that keeping track of every vehicle on a smartphone screen can sometimes be a challenge. That's where the DroneMobile web interface comes in.

The desktop portal offers a full-screen, comprehensive view of your vehicles and their status. It is a fantastic alternative to the mobile app when you need to monitor several vehicles simultaneously. Recently, the DroneMobile Team rolled out some major updates to this interface, and today, we are going to highlight the new features specifically designed for the Drone XC2 dash cam and cloud video viewing.

New Cloud Video Gallery

Reviewing dash cam footage used to mean pulling an SD card and digging through endless files. Now, with a DroneMobile streaming-enabled plan, you can watch your event videos directly from your desktop via the new Cloud Video Gallery.

These are the videos that you can play back in the cloud video gallery.

1. Live stream videos
2. Manual recordings (triggered when you press the on-camera button)
3. Event recordings (triggered by security/impact sensors)

If you want to download videos recorded during regular driving (non-impact) or while your vehicle was parked (motion), you will still need to connect to the XC/XC2's private wi-fi network in the DroneMobile app.

Fast Video Previews

We know that loading high-resolution, multi-channel video files over a cellular connection can consume a lot of data and time. To solve this, the Drone XC2 introduces Fast Video Previews.

Whenever an event is recorded, the XC2 immediately uploads a compressed video preview to the cloud. These previews let you quickly evaluate the situation without eating up your streaming data. If the preview shows something important, you can then request the full-resolution file*.

*Downloading the full-resolution version of a video on desktop is currently in development. At this time, you can download the full-resolution version in the DroneMobile App.

Live Streaming Directly From Your Desktop

If you are actively monitoring a vehicle's activity (e.g. tracking a delivery route or checking in on a teen driver), you can now live stream video directly from your Drone XC and XC2 dash cams right on your desktop.

How to access it:

1. Log into the DroneMobile web interface.
2. Navigate to "Control Center"> "Map".
3. Select the vehicle equipped with a Drone XC/XC2 device.
4. One of the first widgets displayed will be the Live View widget.
5. Click to connect (please allow 10-15 seconds for the live stream to start).

Live streaming has quickly become the undisputed favorite feature among our Drone XC and XC2 users. We're thrilled to finally bring these benefit to desktop users.

How Do I Get Live Streaming and Cloud Features?

To take advantage of these new capabilities, you will need a compatible subscription.
